DALLAS, TX (10/17/2016) — A wrong way accident on Monday night claimed the lives of Hussein Zaybek and Lauren Cordova.
UPDATE: 10/19/2016: The unidentified passenger has been identified as Mohommad Zaybek. He reportedly suffered a broken arm (elbow) and broken leg in the crash, but is now in good condition.
According to authorities, 23-year-old Hussein Zaybek was killed in a wrong way accident that occurred on Highway 75 at the I-35 exit ramp in Dallas, Texas.
DPD reported that at around 11:45 p.m., 27-year-old Lauren Cordova, driving a Cadillac, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 75 when she collided head-on with an Infiniti, driven by Zaybek.
Zaybek and Cordova both lost their lives in the wreckage. Zaybek’s unidentified male passenger was transported to a nearby area hospital in serious condition.
An investigation is ongoing.
Commentary
Intoxication has not yet been ruled out as a factor in this crash; however, a full investigation should offer more answers regarding this tragic accident. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.
