Shortly after midnight on Sunday in Irving, pedestrian Timothy Niewolak was hit and killed by a Ford F-150 truck. The Ford driver struck 52-year-old Niewolak and left the scene without offering assistance. Niewolak had been walking on the side of the 3700 block of Valley View Lane on his way to work when the pickup hit him from behind. He was found in terrible condition about 15 feet from the road by police officers. He died of his injuries before he could be taken to the hospital.
The Irving Police Department is working hard to track down the perpetrator but not much is known about the accident. The wreckage at the scene indicates a Ford F-150 truck, but no other details have been released so far. The police believe there is serious damage to the front of the truck including the front passenger side headlamp and rear-view mirror areas.
