TERRELL, TX (10/24/2016) — A two-vehicle accident on Monday morning claimed the lives of Jeffery Thomas, Lewis Rogers, and Jerry Crawford.
Authorities have identified 54-year-old Jeffery Thomas (of Monroe, LA), 55-year-old Lewis Rogers (of Oakridge, LA), and 68-year-old Jerry Crawford (of Princeton, TX) as the victims of an accident that occurred along Interstate 20—near Wilson Road—in Terrell, Texas.
Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom stated that shortly after 9:30 a.m., Lewis Rogers was traveling westbound in a red, Ford pickup truck when he lost control of his vehicle (possibly due to a tire blowout) and collided with an oncoming white Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by Crawford.
“A tire reportedly blew out on the truck and the driver lost control and the vehicle left the roadway, rolled over, and was struck as it came to rest in the oncoming eastbound lane of traffic,” stated Sansom in a Monday afternoon update.
Jerry Crawford, Lewis Rogers, and Rogers’ passenger Jeffery Thomas all lost their lives in the auto accident.
An investigation is ongoing.
