TROY, TX (10/25/2016) — A single-vehicle accident on Tuesday night claimed the lives of Katlyn Fowler and Jon Lock, and left one other teen injured.
Officials have identified 17-year-old Katlyn Fowler and 16-year-old Jon Kevin Lock as two of the victims involved in a fiery crash that occurred on Old Highway 81 in Troy, Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that shortly before 8:30 p.m., a gray 2012 Chevrolet four-door passenger vehicle was traveling southbound on the highway when the driver lost control, collided with a tree, and caught fire about one mile north of Troy High School.
Two of the occupants were identified as Fowler and Lock; neither survived the wreckage.
A third occupant, a 17-year-old girl, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She is currently being monitored at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Police are unsure who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. An investigation is ongoing.
