MOUNT ENTERPRISE, TX (10/12/2015) — A wrong way driver caused an accident that left Kayla Ingram and Sarah Botkin injured on Monday night.
According to authorities, Kayla Ingram, Chevaughn Morrison, and Sarah Botkin were all injured on Monday after a two-vehicle car accident along Highway 315 in Mount Enterprise, Texas.
Trooper Jean Dark stated that shortly before 9:00 p.m., Morrison was traveling northbound in a Ford Focus when he attempted to pass an 18-wheeler and a passenger car—disregarding a no passing zone—and collided with a Honda Civic, driven by Sarah Botkin.
After the impact, Morrison’s vehicle rolled off the road and landed on its top.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that Morrison was taken via EMS to a hospital in Tyler, Texas for treatment of minor injuries. His passenger, Kayla Ingram, was flown to a Tyler hospital for incapacitating injuries to her legs.
Botkin was also injured, however, she was treated at the scene.
No citations will be issued until the crash investigation is complete.
Commentary
While I know that those injured in this accident are in pain, looking at those pictures, I’m just glad to hear that no one lost their life. Too often we see innocent lives cut short due to a driver’s negligence, and I hope that the victims of this accident are able to recover quickly and without permanent impairment.
