TYLER, TX (02/24/2016) — A wrong way collision on Wednesday injured Corrine Hayes, and claimed the lives of Kevin Fruia and Austin Allen.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 58-year-old Kevin Dale Fruia and 31-year-old Austin Elizabeth Allen were both killed, and 41-year-old Corrine Elizabeth Hayes was injured, following a wrong way collision in Tyler, Texas.
The DPS reported that the accident occurred on Toll 49 (Texas State Highway Loop 49) near Highway 31.
Trooper Jean Dark stated that Austin Allen was traveling southbound on Toll 49 when she swerved into northbound traffic and struck Kevin Fruia’s vehicle.
The impact claimed the lives of both Fruia and Allen.
Corrine Hayes, Fruia’s passenger, was flown to a hospital in Tyler, Texas. Her current condition is unknown at this time.
The DPS says that they did find an open container of alcohol in Fruia’s vehicle.
This wreck remains under investigation.
