Dallas, Texas — Lee Skinner, 34, was pronounced dead Sunday night (11/24/2013) following a violent rear-end crash in Oak Cliff at about 9:15 p.m.
According to the police report, the driver of a white 1996 4-door Lexus crashed into the rear end of a black Jeep which was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Ledbetter Drive and Westmoreland Road. The Lexus was traveling at 60 mph at the time of impact, resulting in an accident so violent that both cars continued into the intersection and collided with two additional vehicles (a Nissan and a Toyota).
Mr. Lee Skinner, of Dallas, was riding in the front passenger seat of the Lexus at the time of the accident, and due to the violent collision, was thrown from the front seat into the rear seat of the vehicle. Mr. Lee was transported to Methodist Dallas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 9:56 p.m. It was reported that the driver of the Lexus was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The driver was arrested for criminally negligent homicide.
Note: Initial reports seem to indicate that the Jeep was the vehicle which rear-ended the Lexus at 60 mph, but the police report appears to state that the Lexus did indeed crash into the Jeep. If you were a witness to this terrible accident, feel free to leave a comment if you believe you have information which can help the family of Mr. Lee Skinner.
