ROGERS, TX (05/05/2016) — Linda Little died following a rollover wreck on Thursday afternoon that also left five others injured.
According to authorities, 18-year-old Linda Cheyenne Little was killed after a single-vehicle accident that occurred along Shaw Road near Five Wells Road in Rogers, Texas.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper D.L. Wilson stated that at around 4:45 p.m., 40-year-old Jewell Chrisner was traveling in a 2002 Mazda Tribute SUV at unsafe speeds when she lost control of the vehicle, veered into a ditch, and rolled several times.
All six occupants of the SUV were ejected during the crash. Police believe that no one inside the Mazda was wearing a seat belt.
Little, who was a passenger, died at the scene.
Four of the occupants—who were children between the ages of 12 and 17—were transported by Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Chrisner was flown to the same hospital in serious condition, where she underwent surgery.
Authorities are investigating this accident.
The driver who caused this accident could face multiple criminal charges (not to mention civil claims from the victims) for injuring her passengers due to her negligence. It was her responsibility to operate the vehicle safely and to ensure that her passengers were buckled properly before she started driving. We offer our condolences to those affected by this crash, and hope that an investigation leads to more answers.
