BRONTE, TX (11/21/2016) — A two-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler truck claimed the life of Linda McClellan on Monday afternoon.
According to authorities, 69-year-old Linda McClellan (of Miles) died in a head-on car-vs-truck accident that occurred on Highway 277 near Marrow Loop Road in Bronte, Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that 65-year-old Juan Molina was traveling northbound in a 2004 Volvo semi-trailer when he crossed into southbound traffic and collided with a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by McClellan.
McClellan did not survive the collision. Officials stated that Molina suffered non-incapacitating injuries, and was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment.
An investigation is ongoing.
In addition to any civil lawsuits files by the victim’s family, the at-fault driver is likely to face serious criminal charges for this 18-wheeler crash—especially since it resulted in a fatality. If the facts presented by DPS officials are correct, this driver’s inability to control his vehicle cost an innocent driver her life.
We would like to extend our condolences to those affected by this crash, and hope that officials conduct a thorough investigation.
