CASS COUNTY, TX (06/03/2015) — Linda Messer, 44, was killed and Jessica Barnett, 17, was injured after an 18-wheeler collided with their car in Cass County late Wednesday night.
According to the Texas Department of Transportation, 44-year-old Linda Messer was killed in a car crash involving an 18-wheeler just outside of Atlanta, Texas around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night on Highway 77.
Messer’s passenger, 17-year-old Jessica Barnett, was also injured in the accident.
Authorities report that Messer’s car and an 18-wheeler collided in Cass County, just a few miles east of Atlanta, Texas. Barnett was air lifted to University Health in Shreveport. She was still being evaluated as of early Thursday morning.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, 43-year-old Rick Caldwell was reportedly not injured in the crash.
