BEEVILLE, TX (1/22/2017) — DPS is investigating a single vehicle accident in Bee County which left one teenage dead and two others injured on Sunday afternoon.
Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers identified 15-year-old Marissa Newton (of Beeville) as the victim of a fatal single-vehicle accident that occurred on Farm to Market Road 888 in Beeville, Texas.
DPS reported that at around 3:00 p.m., a 2006 Kia Rio carrying three occupants northbound on FM 888 lost control, left the roadway, and collided with a fence and multiple trees.
The rear seat passenger, Marissa Newton, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The driver and the front seat passenger were transported to a nearby area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
