A Mesquite ISD bus carrying two adults and one boy with special needs collided with an 18-wheeler, causing the bus to flip.
Details are still coming in, but according to WFAA News the bus was heading northbound on I-635 when the accident occurred. The semi-truck driver said the bus pulled in front of him. He tried to stop but couldn’t do it in time to avoid hitting the bus. The bus occupants were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
I’m sure there’s more to this story that will unfold this week. For example, cars pull in front of me all the time – it’s called “changing lanes.” Unless the bus did something else, e.g. slammed on it’s brakes, there’s no reason why the truck should have hit it.
Speculation is speculation. We’ll just have to wait and see what investigators find in this 18-wheeler accident.
