DIBOLL, TX (10/10/2016) — Micaela Hernandez was killed in a Monday afternoon rollover accident that also injured Santiago Hernandez and Federico Romero.
Authorities identified 86-year-old Santiago Hernandez and 64-year-old Micaela Hernandez (both from Houston) as the victims of a fatal vehicle accident that occurred on Highway 59, just south of Diboll, Texas in Angelina County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that at around 2:00 p.m., 62-year-old Federico Romero was traveling southbound on US-59 in an SUV when he veered across the grassy median and rolled into the northbound lanes of traffic.
Romero, along with his two passengers—Santiago and Micaela Hernandez—were transported to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Micaela Hernandez later lost her life at the hospital.
This accident remains under investigation.
