2-year-old Alyssia Doyle is in critical condition at Fort Worth’s Cook Children’s Medical Center after a speeding car struck her in front of her home.
As CBS reports, the precious little girl stepped off the curb and was run over by a sedan or small car (it all happened so fast an exact description of the vehicle is unavailable). After dragging Alyssia for 50 feet, the driver fled the scene – upgrading a tragic accident to an unacceptable hit and run. Witnesses report a lady was spotted examining the front and undercarriage of her vehicle a couple miles from the accident scene. The color (dull gray / silver) and size (small) were consistent with what family members saw hit Alyssia, and authorities are following up on the lead.
Keep Alyssia in your prayers and thoughts today, as she is scheduled to have surgery this morning. Her injuries include a bruised kidney, a bruised left lung and two concussions.
Drive safely, Dallas.
