DALLAS, TX (7/25/2014) — Two people are dead and five are injured following a violent T-bone accident in Oak Cliff on Friday night.
According to reports, a 2013 Nissan Murano was driving eastbound on Davis Street and attempted to make a left turn onto Tillery Avenue (just east of Loop 12), but was T-boned by a speeding Chrysler 300. Witnesses reportedly told police the driver of the Chrysler was traveling between 70-80 mph at the time of the accident. The speed limit on that stretch of road is 35 mph.
The accident, which occurred just after 10:00 p.m., was so violent that Dallas firefighters had to cut one of the victims from the vehicle. That victim, 64-year-old Minerva Bravo, was pronounced dead at the scene. A man (who has not been identified) was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Five others were seriously injured and were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
