FORT WORTH, TX (8/2/2014) — A 19-year-old woman faces intoxication manslaughter charges after a Saturday evening car accident which left one man dead.
According to witness reports, 19-year-old Nefthali Rosales left the Texas Motor Speedway parking lot and headed south on Allison Avenue at about 6:20 p.m. when she ran a stop sign at the Highway 114 intersection. Mitchell Marks, of Keller, was riding his motorcycle westbound in the center lane of Highway 114 and was unable to avoid Rosales’ vehicle. Mitchell Marks broadsided Rosales’ Honda, launched over the vehicle and landed in the roadway, striking his head. Marks was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Witnesses report that Rosales had her mobile phone in her hand and was either texting or dialing when she ran the stop sign. Police arrived and Rosales was arrested on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter and taken to the Mansfield jail.
