IRVING, TX (08/14/2015) – Motorcyclist Harley Jones was seriously injured on Friday night after a drunk driver broadsided his motorcycle.
According to Irving police, Harley Jones was seriously injured after a drunk driver crashed into his motorcycle at the intersection of West Rock Island Road and North Belt Line Road in Irving, Texas on Friday night.
Authorities stated that at around 10:30 p.m., 42-year-old Chad Lee Hill was driving a 1993 Oldsmobile when he failed to yield at a flashing yellow light and struck Jones, who had a green light as he entered the intersection.
According to the affidavit, Hill admitted to police that he had consumed three 16-ounce beers. “Hill had slow, slightly slurred speech and glossy bloodshot eyes,” the arresting officer wrote.
Jones broke both arms and legs in the collision. He was rushed to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas in serious condition.
Hill was booked into the Irving City Jail on Saturday, and has been charged with intoxication assault with a vehicle.
