Muenster, Texas — A violent single-vehicle car accident on Sunday evening (02/16/2014) has left 5 Muenster High School students hospitalized.
The accident happened just after 7:00 p.m. when a car occupied by five female students lost control at a high rate of speed and flipped several times. According to reports, the gold-colored car was traveling west over a hill on County Road 428 (CR 428) when the driver lost control near Mesquite Road. The vehicle veered off the road, flipped at least 5 times, and came to a rest on its roof inside the baseball field.
According to Muenster ISD Superintendent Clay Richerson, four of the girls are on the Muenster High School basketball team. The girls were apparently coming back into town from a team meeting at a friend’s house.
As of Tuesday, three of the injured students remained at the hospital. Two remain in serious condition, and one is in very serious condition with multiple injuries. The names of the victims have not been released.
