BOSQUE COUNTY, TX (09/22/2016) — A drunk driving-related crash claimed the life of Nancy Aycock on Thursday morning.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 64-year-old Nancy Aycock (of Trent) was killed following a rear-end car accident that occurred on Highway 6, about eight miles north of Meridian, Texas.
The DPS reported that shortly before 9:00 a.m., Aycock, while traveling northbound, was stopped in a construction zone when her 2015 Kia Soul was rear-ended by a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Nicolette Deaguero. According to troopers, the construction zone was “well marked with signs and with rumble strips across the traffic lane.”
Aycock was transported to Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton, where she was pronounced dead.
Deaguero was treated for minor injures at the scene; she was later arrested and charged with DWI and criminally negligent homicide.
An investigation is ongoing.
