DALLAS, TX (02/19/2016) — 2-year-old Noah Vasquez lost his life Friday night after his mother’s car was hit by a speeding driver.
Police have identified 2-year-old Noah Vasquez as the victim of a fatal car accident that took place at the intersection of Duncanville Road and Ledbetter Drive in Dallas, Texas.
Authorities reported that at around 9:00 p.m., 28-year-old Joshua Allen was driving a truck northbound on Ducanville Road at a high rate of speed when he ran a stop sign and broadsided a westbound Toyota Camry, driven by Vasquez’s 19-year-old mother, Sara Casillas.
Two-year-old Noah suffered severe injuries and was transported to Methodist Central Hospital, where he later died. Casillas was also injured in the wreckage, but her current condition was unknown.
Allen was arrested and charged with criminally negligent homicide. He is currently being held at the Lew Sterret Jail with bond set at $100,000.
This fatal accident is currently under investigation.
According to police spokesperson Debra Webb, the child was sitting in the back seat on the driver’s side next to his car seat, however, the child’s family states the toddler was in his safety seat. While a complete investigation will offer more information regarding this matter, the fact remains that the driver responsible for this accident failed to yield right-of-way and caused a wreck that was 100% preventable.
