LONG BRANCH, TX (05/14/2016) — Little Rock residents Paris Simmons and Makiyla Williams were both killed in a Saturday morning 18-wheeler accident.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) identified 20-year-old Paris Simone Simmons and 19-year-old Makiyla Williams as the victims of a fatal accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 315 and FM 840 in Long Branch, Texas.
DPS Trooper Jean Dark stated that at around 5:00 a.m., a Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Williams, was traveling along Highway 315 when it crossed into oncoming traffic and struck an 18-wheeler truck head-on.
Simmons and Williams lost their lives in the accident. The driver of the 18-wheeler was transported to a nearby area hospital for treatment.
This wreck is currently being investigated by the DPS.
