DENVER CITY, TX (12/05/2016) — A multi-vehicle accident claimed the lives of Peter Giesbrecht and Corny Neufeld on Monday morning.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) identified 46-year-old Peter Giesbrecht and 49-year-old Corny Neufeld (both of Seminole) as the victims of a three-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Highway 214 and County Road 330 (CR-330) in Denver City, Texas.
DPS reported that at around 7:00 a.m., Neufeld was traveling in a blue 2000 Jeep Cherokee, attempting to make a left turn onto CR 330 from NB Highway 214, when the driver of a red 2016 Ford Mustang failed to control his speed and rear-ended Neufeld’s vehicle.
The initial collision forced the Jeep into oncoming traffic, where it was struck a second time by a white 2016 Ford pickup truck and later came to rest in a nearby ditch.
Neufeld and his passenger, Giesbrect, were both ejected during the accident; neither man survived.
The DPS is currently conducting an investigation.
