ARLINGTON, TX (04/22/2016) — A Dan Dipert Coaches employee, Philemon McLean, was killed in a bus accident on Friday morning.
Arlington police identified Philemon McLean as the victim of a fatal bus accident that occurred at 7300 W Pioneer Parkway at Dan Dipert Coaches in Arlington, Texas.
Authorities reported that at around 5:30 a.m., McLean was chatting with another bus driver when he noticed that his parked charter bus started rolling away.
McLean ran toward the vehicle and attempted to get inside to stop the bus. However, he was pinned between his bus and another charter bus on-site.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We’re all here as a family together. We’re a close-knit family so we’re supporting each other,” the victim’s nephew, Howard McLean, said.
Arlington police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the incident as an industrial accident. They are trying to determine if it was caused by mechanical or operator failure.
