A suspected drunk driver killed a motorcyclist yesterday evening and attempted to flee the scene. The incident occurred in Fort Worth on Alta Mere Drive near I-30 before 7:30 pm. Seth Donnelly was driving his white Chevy truck when he failed to yield and was hailed by a police officer. Instead of pulling over, 23-year-old Donnelly tried to speed away. His truck plowed into an unsuspecting motorcycle. Horrifically, Donnelly continued to drive with the motorcycle stuck to the front of his car. The motorcyclist, whose name has not yet been released, fell into the road and was pronounced dead at the crash site.
Still believing there was a chance he could escape the police, Donnelly abandoned his car along a median and took off on foot. The Fort Worth police were able to capture Donnelly before he could get too far. The reputable Dallas Morning News Crime Blog reports that, “Donnelly smelled strongly of alcohol and showed no remorse for his actions.” He has already been arrested for intoxication manslaughter.
