SAN MARCOS, TX (01/19/2017) — A motorcycle crash on Thursday night claimed the life of Texas State University student Quirino Ramirez.

San Marcos police identified 20-year-old Quirino Ramirez (of San Marcos) as the victim of a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred in the 1500 block of Old Ranch Road 12 in San Marcos, Texas.
Authorities reported that at around 6:30 p.m., Ramirez was traveling westbound on RM 12 on a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle when the driver of a 2006 Toyota Corolla exiting the Highcrest apartment complex pulled into the path of Ramirez. The driver of the Corolla reportedly did not see the motorcycle before pulling into the roadway.
The impact ejected Ramirez from the motorcycle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This collision is currently being investigated by the San Marcos Police Department.

Police have not filed charges against the at-fault party at this time, but that could change once the investigation is complete. We urge all drivers to look twice for motorcyclists, and we offer our condolences to those affected by this tragic accident.
