RHOME, TX (06/05/2015) — 46-year-old Darin Woolwine and three others were injured in a two-vehicle crash along Highway 287 in Rhome, Texas, just north of County Road 4421, on Friday night.
According to reports, 46-year-old Darin Woolwine and three others were injured last Friday, shortly before 7:00 p.m., after a two-vehicle accident on Highway 287 near County Road 4421 in Rhome, Texas.
Department of Public Safety Sgt. Lonny Haschel stated that a gray, four-door Dodge pickup truck—driven by 42-year-old Warren Maughan—attempted to pass an 18-wheeler on the inside shoulder of northbound Highway 287.
“After going around in the grassy area, [the Dodge] rear-ended a blue Ford Expedition,” Haschel explained.
Maughan was flown via air ambulance (CareFlite) to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas with serious injuries.
The four passengers of the Expedition, including Darin Woolwine, were transported to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur, Texas with non-life-threatening injuries.
At this time the accident remains under investigation; no charges have been filed.
