Commentary
Pedestrian accident statistics in Texas are astounding. According to the Governors Highway Safety Association, in 2014, Texas encountered 4,735 auto-pedestrian accidents; of which, 480 resulted in fatalities. We urge drivers to follow the “move over or slow down” rule not only when passing emergency vehicles, but also when passing an accident site or a stalled vehicle where people are likely to be outside of their cars or standing near the roadway.
