Garland, Texas — 54-year-old Ronald Hawley and his wife, 60-year-old Deborah Hawley have died following a motorcycle accident on New Years day (01/01/2014) in the 6700 block of North Shiloh Road.
Authorities say Mr. & Mrs. Hawley, of Garland, were riding their motorcycle on Wednesday afternoon (just after 3:00 p.m.) when they collided with a 2002 Mercury Sable which failed to yield when exiting a Kroger grocery store parking lot. They were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
The Hawleys were transported to Medical City Dallas Hospital. Ronald Hawley died Thursday morning, and Deborah Hawley passed Thursday afternoon. Authorities are saying that an investigation is ongoing, and that no charges have been filed against the 64-year-old Mercury Sable driver.
