GARLAND, TX (11/24/2016) — A suspected drunk driver struck and killed a man putting gas into his daughter’s car on Thanksgiving day.
Police identified Samuel Guzman (of Sasche) as the victim of an auto-pedestrian accident that occurred on the George Bush Turnpike near the Firewheel Town Center in Garland, Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that Guzman was on the shoulder of the highway, filling up his daughter’s tank with gas, when 50-year-old Paul Thurber (of Richardson) struck him.
The DPS stated that Thurber is likely to face DWI-related charges.
An investigation is underway.
