DALLAS, TX (05/07/2016) — Three Dallas Baptist University students—Will Smith, Justin Schubert, and Djordje Sarenac—were killed in a car accident on Saturday.
According to police, Will Smith, Justin Schubert, and Djordje “DJ” Sarenac died in a single-vehicle accident that occurred along Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas, Texas.
Authorities reported at around 3:00 a.m., a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound when the driver veered off the road and struck a utility pole. Police believe that the driver of the truck hit a piece of equipment meant to be installed by Mountain Creek Lake, which lead to the wreck.
Smith, Schubert, and Sarenac died in the wreckage. It is unclear who was driving the vehicle.
The victims were all students at Dallas Baptist University.
“DBU administration is currently reaching out to these families to provide love, support, and encouragement in the midst of this tragedy,” the school’s news release reads. “Our hearts and prayers are with the families of these students as our University mourns this heartbreaking loss.”
This accident remains under investigation.
