Three teens are in the hospital after their car flipped during a street race with a pickup truck in Grand Prairie.
18-year-old Manuel Mondragon was driving two friends in a 2000 Volkswagen GTI sedan when he began to race a 2002 Ford F150. Losing control, he flipped the sedan near the intersection of Corn Valley Road and Pioneer Parkway. He and his two passengers were taken to the hospital via ambulance and helicopter. Manual’s back-seat passenger, 18-year-old Adriana Camarillo, is in critical condition having suffered a severe head wound. The driver of the F150, another teen, left the scene – but (admirably) returned to face up to the consequences later on. Read WFAA’s report here.
Dallas car accident attorney Jeff Rasansky has seen the disastrous effects street racing can have. Just this past March, a street sweeper was hit by street racers in McKinney, killing one of the workers inside. A father himself, Jeff feels for the family of Adriana and sincerely hopes she makes a full recovery.
Drive safely, Dallas.
