GALVESTON, TX (07/19/2015) — 55-year-old Susanne Wolff, of Middleton, WI, was killed Sunday after her vehicle was struck head-on in Galveston, Texas.
The Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that Susanne Wolff, 55, was killed, and her unidentified male passenger was critically injured, after a head-on collision in Galveston, Texas this past Sunday evening.
According to police, shortly after 6:30 p.m., 18-year-old Carlos Mendez was traveling eastbound on Seawall Boulevard in a pickup truck, while allaegedly racing two other vehicles.
“He appeared to be racing two other vehicles,” police said. “The truck crossed the westbound lanes of traffic, onto an inclined portion of the road, then back into the westbound lanes, striking the silver-colored SUV head on.”
The SUV went off the top of the seawall down to an area known as the flats.
Wolff was killed in the wreck, and her male passenger was critically injured. The two were visiting Galveston from Middleton, Wisconsin.
Mendez was arrested and tentatively charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault.
