A new study out of the Texas Transportation Institute, a subset of Texas A&M University, shows that red-light related accidents decrease a notable percentage after cameras were installed.
Frisco is betting that red light cameras will lower the risk of deadly intersection collisions. Officials refer back to a similar enforcement program that ran from 2005 to 2009 at two other Frisco intersections. In that instance, the number of red light citations dropped an astonishing 94.6%. Mayor Maher Maso hopes to see similar results with the new cameras.
