NEW CANEY, TX (01/09/2016) — College freshman Tamon Willis was killed on his way to work early Saturday morning by a driver who failed to yield right of way.
According to officials, 18-year-old Tamon Willis was the victim of a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred that the intersection of FM 1485 and Roadway Lane in New Caney, Texas.
Police reported that at around 5:00 a.m., 34-year-old Eric Brian Ellison ran a stop sign as he attempted to turn onto westbound FM 1485 from Roadway Lane, and crahsed his Chevrolet Uplander into Willis, who was riding his motorcycle.
After the incident, Ellison fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
Willis lost his life at the scene. He was a 2015 graduate of New Caney High School, and was currently attending the University of Houston.
Ellison—who was released in 2015 after a 15-year prison sentence—faces a felony charge of involvement in an accident that caused death.
