KERMIT, TX (11/16/2016) — An 18-wheeler accident last Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of Terrance Daniels.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) identified 36-year-old Terrance Daniels (of Naples) as the victim of a fatal 18-wheeler accident that occurred on Highway 302 in Kermit, Texas.
The DPS reported that 46-year-old Hector Javalera had pulled his 2005 International tractor-trailer onto the shoulder of the highway. As he was attempting to reenter the roadway, he failed to yield right-of-way to a 2013 Mack truck traveling westbound.
Terrance Daniels, the driver of the Mack truck, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities stated that Javalera was taken to Winkler County Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
This accident remains under investigation.

Police have already said that this accident was attributed to a failure to yield right-of-way, but police did not indicate if the at-fault driver will face criminal charges.
