HURST, TX (05/23/2015) — Three people were killed on Saturday afternoon after their pickup truck flipped off a bridge near the intersection of State Highway 121 and Interstate 820 in Hurst, Texas.
Reports indicate that Alicia Perez, Juana Rivera, and one unidentified male died after their Toyota Tacoma pickup truck careened over a guardrail and crashed on its roof around noon on Saturday. The vehicle fell from the southbound lanes of Loop 820 on a bridge over State Highway 121 in Hurst, Texas.
MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky stated that a pickup truck was getting off I-820 and onto Route 10 when it hydroplaned, hit another vehicle, and flipped over the guardrail and landed upside down. All three occupants of the pickup truck were killed.
- 45-year-old Alicia Perez, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. She died from a traumatic brain injury.
- 80-year-old Juana Rivera, also a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. She died of blunt force trauma.
- The driver, who has not been identified, also died at the scene of the accident.
“When they hydroplaned, the impact pushed us against the rail,” said Demorey Beasley, who was a passenger in the vehicle that was sideswiped by the pickup truck.
Hurst police are still investigating the accident.
