ARLINGTON, TX (12/20/2015) — A major bus accident killed Torie Davis and injured a total of seventeen people early Sunday morning.
According to authorities, a bus accident along Interstate 30 at the Collins Street bridge killed 28-year-old Torie Davis when her disabled SUV was struck by a Greyhound bus.
Officials stated that at around 5:27 a.m., an SUV—driven by Davis—was reported to be exhibiting erratic driving behavior before it collided with a concrete barrier that divided the HOV lane from the main lanes of the highway.
At some point after the initial collision, a Greyhound bus traveling from Dallas to Amarillo crashed into the SUV, claiming the life of Davis. The second occupant of the SUV was airlifted to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Arlington Police spokesman Lt. Christopher Cook stated that sixteen passengers aboard the bus suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were all taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Authorities say that the driver of the Greyhound bus will not be facing charges.
Arlington police, along with the DPS, are investigating this fatal accident.
