Fort Worth, TX – Two wrong-way drivers were killed in separate overnight crashes in Fort Worth on Thursday.
The first incident occurred just before 1 AM on Highway 114 near Westlake Parkway. According to Fort Worth police, an SUV traveling the wrong way collided head-on with an 18-wheeler in the eastbound lanes. The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver escaped serious injury.
Highway 114’s eastbound lanes were closed for several hours Thursday morning to clear the wreckage.
The second crash took place around 2:30 AM on Interstate 30 near Cherry Lane. Police stated a minivan driving the wrong way on the freeway crashed and killed the driver. FOX 4 Traffic reporter Chip Waggoner stated the collision involved an 18-wheeler, which spilled fluids and scattered debris across the interstate.
As crews work to clean up and investigate, I-30 remains closed in both directions during the morning commute. Drivers are advised to avoid the area. The closure could persist throughout the morning.
