Update: Police have released the names of those killed in this accident. They are Isaac Cuellar and Chelsey Jimenez.
Carrollton, Texas — Isaac Cuellar and Chelsey Jimenez were killed in a wrong-way accident on the President George Bush Turnpike late Saturday night / early Sunday morning (10/13/2013).
Investigators say the accident occurred just before 4:00 a.m. when the driver of a MINI Cooper somehow ended up traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the Bush Turnpike (PGBT). The MINI Cooper collided with an oncoming sport utility vehicle near the Josey Lane exit.
Both occupants of the MINI Cooper (Isaac Cuellar and Chelsey Jimenez) died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the SUV was taken to Medical Center of Plano with non-life threatening injuries. It is unclear at this time if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
