CRAWFORD, TX (02/13/2017) — Two men remain in the hospital after a four-vehicle crash on Monday morning.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), two people sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 6 near Hill Top Drive in Crawford, Texas.
DPS Trooper Jerrod Hubbard reported that at around 8:00 a.m., the 24-year-old male driver of a Dodge Durango was traveling westbound on SH 6 when he attempted to turn onto Hill Top Lane. As the driver of the Durango slowed to make the turn, the 44-year-old male driver of a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck rear-ended his vehicle.
The Durango was subsequently forced into the eastbound lane of traffic, where it collided with a Cadillac Escalade—driven by a 40-year-old Clifton woman—and a 2016 Dodge Journey—driven by a 33-year-old Clifton woman.
The driver of the Durango was taken to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center in stable condition. The driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck was flown to the same hospital in serious condition. Both are said to be recovering from “serious injuries.” The other two female drivers involved were not injured.
An investigation is underway.
