VINTON, TX (11/22/2015) — A vehicle stuck on the shoulder of I-10 was struck by an 18-wheeler on Sunday, resulting in two fatalities.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), two victims—who have not yet been identified—were killed when an 18-wheeler rear-ended their stalled vehicle along the shoulder of Interstate 10 in Vinton, Texas.
DPS reported that at around 12:49 p.m. on Sunday, two people pulled over onto the shoulder of I-10 and were standing outside their vehicle when an approaching 18-wheeler collided with the car. The trailer of the 18-wheeler struck both the vehicle and the two occupants, killing both.
El Paso police are currently investigating this fatal wreck. Authorities have not stated if the driver of the 18-wheeler will face criminal charges.
