TYLER, TX (06/04/2015) — A woman and child were taken to a hospital after being involved in a multi-vehicle accident along Highway 31 at County Road 21 near Tyler, Texas.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a woman and a child were transported to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 31 east at CR 21 on Thursday, about 11 miles east of Tyler, Texas.
A preliminary report states that an oil tanker was slowing down when the driver of a pickup truck traveling behind it failed to control their speed and rear-ended the vehicle in front of them, which caused another vehicle to rear-end the tanker truck.
According to authorities, the woman and child riding in the vehicle that collided with the tanker truck were taken to East Texas Medical Center via air ambulance (Air-1) for treatment.
Neither the truck driver nor the oil tanker driver appeared to have serious injuries.
Officials are currently investigating this crash.
