According to MyFoxDFW.com, two people were sent to the hospital after their vehicle slammed into a hotel in DeSoto. The report claims that, after two vehicles got involved in a crash on I 35 E, one of the vehicles crashed into the Hampton Inn and Suites.
Fortunately, none of the people inside the hotel were hurt in the incident. Two witnesses that reporters spoke to described seeing dust and debris on the road and then seeing one of the cars go airborne, actually flying over an embankment. One of the workers acted quickly and used a fire extinguisher to put out a fire caused by the vehicle.
As of the date of the report, officers hadn’t charged anyone in the incident and were investigating to see if alcohol played a factor.
Unusual Crashes
As this story – and many others like it – clearly demonstrate, not every car accident is a predictable affair involving two vehicles colliding on the same roadway. Car accidents can sometimes come in unexpected forms and, even when you’re sitting in a hotel lobby, you may end up being injured because of a nearby car accident.
In some cases, it’s important to remember that car accidents of this sort really are freak accidents. Somebody may be struck on a highway by another vehicle, with neither driver having been under the influence of any drug and without either driver having been negligent and the surrounding area may be enveloped in the mayhem. As the above case demonstrates, sometimes, good people will go out of their way to try to minimize the fallout from the situation.
There are situations, however, where someone is driving so recklessly that they do end up slamming into a house, a commercial establishment, driving up onto a sidewalk or causing another situation where there is a great deal of risk to life and limb for anyone nearby, even people who are quite a distance from where the accident took place.
These accidents can be difficult to investigate, but a Dallas car crash lawyer will have the resources necessary to determine whether or not negligence played a role in the crash. If it did, one of the parties involved may be responsible for paying you compensation for the injuries, property damage and other hardships they visited upon you through their own negligence. Talk to an attorney about any unusual situation like this; they will have the tools to investigate it.
