MIDLAND, TX (09/13/2015) — Laura Bonilla was killed, and Michelle Bustamante, Gabriel Barela, and Ruth Jasson were all hospitalized, after a collision early Sunday morning.
According to authorities, a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Highway 349 and West County Road 130 claimed the life of Laura Bonilla, 23, on Sunday morning in Midland, Texas. The car accident also injured three others: Michelle Bustamante and Gabriel Barela, both 29, and 23-year-old Ruth Jasson.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers stated that at around 1:45 a.m., a westbound 2005 GMC Yukon ran a stop sign and broadsided a northbound 2007 Nissan Maxima. The impact caused the Yukon to rollover.
According to police, Bonilla—a passenger in the Maxima—was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two occupants of the Maxima, Bustamante and Barela, were transported to Midland Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Yukon, Jasson, was also taken to Midland Memorial Hospital.
None of the victim’s current conditions are available at this time.
