WACO, TX (12/28/2016) — Virgina Wiese lost her life following a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon.
Police identified 73-year-old Virginia Ann Wiese (of Hewitt) as the victim of a fatal head-on collision that happened in the 2500 block of Old Lorena Road (near Chapel Road) in Waco, Texas.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. D.L. Wilson, at around 2:00 p.m., 47-year-old Brian Adam Lopez was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of Old Lorena when his 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck (which was towing a small trailer) struck a 2014 Honda CRV—driven by Wiese—head-on.
“It appears right before the collision, the Honda may have tried to avoid the collision, but at that point, it was unavoidable,” Sgt. Wilson said.
Neither Wiese nor Lopez survived the collision. This accident remains under investigation.
