An accident in Dallas last night occurred when a drunk driver crashed into woman’s SUV while waving at her. The man was driving a four-door sedan on Stemmons Freeway heading south when he began waving at a woman driving an SUV. He then hit her vehicle, sending the SUV rolling off the highway until it came to a rest upside down. The woman was hospitalized with what were reported non-life threatening injuries. The other driver crashed into a guardrail. The police found empty and opened beers in his vehicle. He has since been charged with driving while intoxicated.
Was the intoxicated driver waving at her because they knew each other? Was he trying to get her attention for a reason or just confused? So far his motives are unclear. One of the reasons intoxicated drivers are so dangerous is that it can be incredibly difficult to predict their behavior. Whether it’s weaving or waving, be on the lookout for night drivers who display strange behavior.
