There were two car accidents in Arlington this weekend resulting in one woman’s death and the loss of a pregnant woman’s unborn child.
The first accident occurred on Friday morning at 10:30 am at West Arkansas Lane and Matlock Road. A car was turning onto Matlock Road from eastbound West Arkansas Lane. A van was headed west on West Arkansas. The police are still investigating the exact cause the accident. Right now it appears that the car and van collided, sending the van straight into the traffic light’s pole.
WFAA reported that there was one passenger in the car who was hospitalized. The van held two adults and four children. It’s unclear which vehicle the pregnant woman was in. Everyone involved in the crash was taken to nearby hospitals with serious injuries. The conditions of most are unknown, but the two children have been released from the hospital.

The second accident was a single-vehicle accident that occurred at 2:45 am on Saturday morning. Andrea Dominguez was driving a 2005 Cadillac CTS southbound on New York Avenue when she lost control of the vehicle. The Cadillac first hit a fire hydrant and then careened into a fence. After hitting the fence, the car rolled over. It finally came to a rest after smashing through a nearby home. The front of the house was decimated. Two walls came down. One was the wall of the living room and the second was a bedroom wall. No one inside the Faithful Trail house was harmed.
The driver, Dominguez, was killed in the accident. It’s unclear what initially caused the 20-year-old woman’s car to leave New York Avenue and hit the fire hydrant.
