BYNUM, TX (06/09/2016) — A wrong way driver caused a fatal accident that claimed the lives of William and Linda Marks on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 81-year-old William Marks and 77-year-old Linda Marks were both killed following a head-on collision that occurred along Highway 171 in Bynum, Texas.
DPS Trooper D.L. Wilson stated that at around 1:30 p.m., a 2007 GMC pickup truck (pulling a trailer) was traveling northbound on TX-171 when it veered into southbound traffic and struck a 2003 Ford Ranger, driven by William Marks.
William Marks and his passenger Linda Marks were pronounced dead at the scene.
The 31-year-old male driver of the GMC pickup truck was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The accident is currently under investigation.
