WICHITA FALLS, TX (06/12/2015) — Willie Potter, 58, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Friday night on Seymour Highway in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Authorities have confirmed that 58-year-old Willie Potter, of Electra, was killed after his motorcycle was rear-ended on Friday night at the intersection of Seymour Highway and Highway 258 near the Kamay “Y” Convenience Store in Wichita County, Texas.
According to Wichita County Sheriff David Duke, Potter was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on Seymour Highway, just before 10:00 p.m., when he was rear-ended by a Nissan Pathfinder driven by 46-year-old Melissa Kay Trejo.
Potter was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in a bar ditch.
After colliding with Potter, Trejo crossed westbound traffic and drove through three fences before knocking down a 500-gallon propane tank off its foundation and landing in a drainage ditch near the Wichita West Volunteer Fire Department.
Duke stated that Potter was transported to United Regional where he died from his injuries. Trejo was also taken there for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the authorities, Trejo was booked into the Wichita County Jail Saturday morning and charged with driving while intoxicated. It is unknown if she will be later charged with intoxication manslaughter.
This incident is currently being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
