Fort Worth, Texas — A female pedestrian, who has not yet been named, has died following a car-vs-pedestrian accident on Interstate 35W / South Freeway on Thursday morning (01/16/2014).
The accident happened at around the 4800 block of South Freeway, near Seminary Drive (north of I-20). Police were called to the scene at around 5:00 a.m. after a caller reported a major accident. According to officials, the woman was trying to cross the northbound lanes of I-35W when the white car pictured above swerved to avoid the women, spun out, and was struck by an 18-wheeler truck which apparently rolled over the car or caused the car to flip.
While unfortunately the female pedestrian was killed, amazingly, the driver of the white car was not seriously injured. The driver of the 18-wheeler also avoided serious injury in the crash. Northbound traffic on South Freeway was blocked for more than three hours, but has since reopened.
